I called A-1 as well as 2 other roofing companies to request bids for badly deteriorated residential roof. It had not been re-roofed in the 12 years I've lived at my house and was well past due. A-1's bid was not the lowest, but it was the company that made me believe they would do the best job for the money. I was not disappointed. A-1 was able to schedule the materials' delivery, pull off the old and put on the new shingles, and inspect the job in 4 working days after signing the contract. Plenty of time before an anniversary party scheduled for that weekend at the house.

The finished job is clean. The ridges and valleys have a straight finished edge, soil and air vents are lying straight and sealed, and the chimney flashing has a new professionally sealed edge that denies water the easy access it formerly had with the stepped flashing. The yard was clean as well, barely showing signs anyone had stripped off a few hundred pounds of shingles.

Of particular note are the four tube skylights I myself installed years before. The work A-1 did around the skylight globes I'd installed reminded me why I'm not a professional roofer. Precisely cut shingles surrounded the top edge, and the flashing was nailed and properly sealed as the manufacturer's suggestions (that I ignored when I initially did the job) suggested to do so.

The project (house and garage) was completed within the two days promised and the crew was very professional in how they did their job. They cleaned up the area at the end of each work day and worked well around other carpenter and painting contractors working on the house at the same time.

I especially want to compliment this crew on their work ethic. They arrived by 7:30 or so each morning and did not leave until 7:00 or so each evening. My wife, who was home during the day, said she never saw them take a break and took only what appeared to be a short lunch. It was obvious they all had their respective jobs to do and worked well as a team.

It was not our intent to watch the crew this closely, but we just couldn't help noticing how hard and efficiently they worked. It was positively refreshing, especially in this day and time, to watch these gentlemen work.

I am sending this letter to let you know I was very pleased with the work A-1 did for me.

I informed the salesperson at A-1 that I had a medical condition requiring surgery and needed the work done as soon as possible. They brought in a large crew and removed the old roofs and put on the new ones in a matter of days. I've never seen a crew work as hard or diligently as these guys. There was never a time where they were arguing or swearing. They all had their job to do and they did it!

Over the past year I've run a lot of crews and also was a union steward for the electrical union and have never seen a group of men work together so well as these guys did.
